Canvas walls,
real beds.
The bush, without giving anything up.
These are canvas structures in name only — proper beds, ensuite bathrooms, sometimes a plunge pool, always a deck facing whatever the camp faces. What canvas actually buys you is proximity: no perimeter wall thick enough to keep the sound of the bush out, which is the entire point of staying here instead of a lodge.
We work with a small set of camps across the Mara, Amboseli and Tsavo, chosen for position over polish — a camp on a river bend or facing Kilimanjaro beats a bigger one set back from either.
